4th time's the charm

Everyone knows this picture of ABBA.  It's one of their most popular images and the cat dresses are some of their most popular costumes.  As it is one of my favorite pictures, I've tried drawing it numerous of times.

The first time was when I had first started drawing ABBA pictures.  Look how horrible they look:

Second time was on MS Paint.  It didn't look so bad, but ABBA have bubble heads. :/
Third time was drawn by hand and colorized with Ribbet which explains the pale colors.

And now, I've drawn this picture a fourth time for The Story of ABBA 2.0.  This one definitely has to be the best of all my attempts. :)

It's alright to get annoyed

It happens a lot that when I listen to a certain ABBA song too many times, I get annoyed at it and I can't bare to listen to it for the longest time.  Songs like "Super Trouper" and "Mamma Mia", both really amazing and wonderful songs, have been getting on my nerves a lot lately, and I haven't been able to bring myself to listen to them.  When I have my phone's music player on shuffle and those songs come on, I have to hit next because if I listen to them one more time...  And I usually feel pretty horrible because of that.  How can an ABBA fan not listen to ABBA songs?  Well, that's where I'm wrong.  It's OKAY to get annoyed at ABBA songs!

But then, how do you become un-annoyed at these songs?  The trick is, just don't listen to those songs for a while.  A few weeks, maybe even a month, however long you want.  Then after not listening to them for a while, listen to those songs again and your love for these songs will be renewed. :)

This works for any song from any band. :D

I haven't done a random post like this in ages, lol.

ABBA live in Eskilstuna, 1975

One of the things that I like to do as I'm making progress on the illustrations for The Story of ABBA 2.0 is to listen to ABBA songs that are from the year that I'm currently drawing.  I just started colorizing illustrations for the year 1975 and I found that listening to the tracks from the ABBA album just wasn't getting to me when drawing pictures of ABBA performing on stage during their 74/75 tour.  A lot of bootleg recordings from ABBA's concert in Eskilstuna have appeared on YouTube every so often over the past several years, and those recordings are absolutely fantastic!  Hearing these recordings really makes me want another live album.  I would really love to hear songs like "King Kong Song" (one of my favorites actually - sorry Bjorn and Benny!) and "Gonna Sing You My Love Song" live and released officially.  That would be nice. :)

ABBA Drawings - Have I shared these yet?

I can't remember if I've shared these yet or not, but anyway, these are the drawings that I send to ABBA via Gorel Hanser.  :)  When I asked if Gorel received them, she said she liked the one I did of her very much.  ^^  The scanner kinda ruined the drawings, but they look a lot better in real life. :)

I meant to post these earlier, but I've been a bit sidetracked lately.  Some recent photos of Agnetha.  So good to see her out and about again. :)

Agnetha and Bjorn have new hair!

If you saw my post on Sew Amazing, then you'd know what I'm talking about, but if you haven't, then here it is.  I changed Agnetha doll and Bjorn doll's hair because it was all old and dirty and falling out.  It was a very hard decision to make, but I'm very happy with the result. ^^ ... except that they look like Lemon Heads. :P

A super cool channel worth checking out - Peter Loner

So there's this really cool channel on YouTube, Peter Loner!  He does filtered versions of  ABBA songs, among other artists, exposing some really awesome backing tracks! I'm listening to one of his recent videos, the backing tracks to Gonna Sing You My Lovesong and it is abbasolutely amazing!!
