6 years on YouTube

Today marks 6 years since I uploaded my first animation to YouTube.  Why not celebrate by watching my cheesy old animation? xD

Happy anniversary to me. :3

Cat Dress

I didn't forget to do my weekly drawing for this week, I've just been busy all week and only got the time to draw this now.  :)  I think this is the second time I've drawn this picture, the first one I drew really early on in 2012 and well... I did not draw very well back then. xD  6 years later, my drawing skills have definitely improved, haha.
I've been experimenting a lot with different drawing styles, and this one I chose to use the rough pencil setting on my drawing software instead of the thick lines I've been doing before and it looks almost like I drew it by hand, except that I didn't.  As this is just a cartoon, they don't entirely look like them, but I think you can tell that it's ABBA.

Also, I thought this would be a great photo to demonstrate the importance of shading your pictures. :)

Happy birthday Linda!

Today is Linda Ulvaeus' 45th birthday. :D   I hope she has an absolutely incredible day celebrating with her friends and family. <3

700 subscribers!!

I literally just reached 600 and now I'm at 700 in just over a week.  :O  Thank you all so much, I really appreciate it!!

Happy 7th Birthday Frida Dollstad!

Today my Frida doll turns 7! :O  Just as I am with Agnetha doll's 7th birthday, I am so surprised and amazed that it's been 7 years since I completed the second doll in my ABBA collection.  7 years!!

Here's to many more years of sitting in my room waiting for more costumes to be made and hair to be replaced and rips to be mended... xD

Agnetha Sketch

For this week's weekly ABBA drawing, here is a really quick sketch of Agnetha since I didn't have much time to work on a proper drawing.

600 Subscribers

Just one month ago I reached 500 subscribers which is already so much, and just tonight I reached 600. :O  I am so honored by each and every one of you for taking the time to hit that subscribe button.  I never even imagined that I'd get to 100 subscribers, and now I'm at 600.  Thank you so much for following my YouTube channel and enjoying the videos that I upload.  It really warms my heart to see that people enjoy my videos.  Thank you everyone. <3

Modern music

So a lot of ABBA fans are not only fans of ABBA, but fans of a lot of bands from the 60s, 70s, and 80s.  that's pretty cool.  A lot of them believe that they were born in the wrong era since they listen to mostly old music.  (No way is this supposed to be a put down, btw!  I'm all for them loving the oldies and goodies from back then!)

I'm also an ABBA fan.  But I'm not one of those people who loves everything from back then. I'm not an old music enthusiast. To be honest, I actually can't stand a lot of the music that plays on the oldies stations.  I find the Beatles, Queen, Guns N' Roses, and many, many more to be rather annoying, with only a few songs, like maybe some from ELO, Michael Jackson or Blondie that I actually don't mind.  But it turns out that the only 60s, 70s, and 80s music that I listen to is ABBA, some ABBA related artists like Ted Gardestad and Tomas Ledin, and the ABBA members pre and post ABBA music. besides that, turns out the majority of music I listen to is modern music.

I find that a lot of people who prefer old music tend to despise the modern music of today.  They find them to be annoying, manufactured, lame, I dunno, but basically they don't like it.  I also don't like the manufactured pop stars of today, like Selena Gomez, Ariana Grande, or Justin Bieber just to name a few.  I honestly think their music stink.  though those are modern artists, they are not the ones that I listen to.

Lately I'm finding myself listening to a lot of Pop Punk or Punk Rock bands, like Tonight Alive, Yellowcard, Paramore, Against the Current, and We Are The In Crowd, just to name a few.  I'm also a big fan of Sabrina Carpenter, Imagine Dragons, and some of the Jonas Brother's old stuff from when they were a thing.  The reason why I listen to the bands and artists that I just listed is because they all have talent.  Hayley Williams of Paramore has one of the widest vocal ranges I've ever heard, Ryan Key of Yellowcard has an incredible voice, Jenna McDougall has a very powerful voice and can sing in so many different styles, and the lyrics to a lot of We Are The In Crowd and Against the Current's songs are super relatable.  Sabrina Carpenter, though she's beginning to sound like your average pop star, has an incredible talent and the lyrics to her music are very well thought out and she has something to say in all of her songs.

I feel like there is an assumption that anyone who listens to any old music, like I listen to ABBA, must be the type of person who listens to only old music and hates on the modern stuff.  I love ABBA, I love the members, I love the lyrics to their songs, I love the tunes, their harmonies and voices, but I also love the talented bands and musicians of today. :)

Weekly ABBA Drawings?

A couple of years ago I think it was, a friend of mine had suggested that I start a weekly ABBA drawing, kind of like my weekly picture on the sidebar.  At the time I didn't have much motivation so I never got around to it.  Now I'm thinking that maybe I should start that up, a weekly ABBA drawing or a monthly ABBA drawing, I dunno, but something to keep my drawing inspiration up.   So why not start today since it's a new month. :D
ABBA in 1981. It's a very simple drawing with not much detail, but I like it and am quite enjoying drawing in this style.  :)
