Collection Update

Okay, so I meant to post this on my blog's anniversary, April 1st, because I love sharing collection updates and all my new ABBA goodies on my blogiversary, but I was busy with things and just life in general.  But here I am, 11 days late.

I guess you could say I've been on a bit of an ABBA shopping spree as of late.  In December, I finished my record collection, with all 8 of ABBA studio albums + three compilation albums, and then in January I bought the Thank You For The Music box set.

Shortly after that, just for the fun of it, I decided to buy More ABBA Gold because why not?  For some reason ABBA Gold has never been my favorite, even though it's technically the album that introduced me to ABBA, so I never cared about getting its sister album until now.  Don't ask me why I'm like this, I have no idea either, haha.  Anyways, I actually do like More ABBA Gold a lot now, I like the selection of songs on it, and it's also a very pretty logo design in my opinion.

As long as I'm here, has anyone else noticed the weird sound error on I Am The City at 1:51?  I thought it was an error with my CD, but it's on almost every other version of the song except for The Visitors (Deluxe Edition), or at least that's what my research has found.  It's been bugging me a lot, haha.

Next, my lovely sister bought me the self titled album on CD.  Yes, I already have it on record, but I also want a complete CD collection.  It's in super good condition, nice and shiny.

Now for a quick storytime.  Ever since ABBA the Museum released ABBA Monopoly, I knew I just had to have it.  My family has a beautiful, vintage Monopoly set, and I've played it practically my whole life.  It's definitely one of my favorite board games, and the fact that there's an ABBA version of Monopoly makes me super happy.

As a gift to myself, I decided I wanted to do another order from ABBA the Museum, though when I went to the website, I was surprised that ABBA Monopoly was not in stock.  So I wrote to the museum, asking them when it would be available, and they said it would be back in the middle of January.  I waited, and well, it never showed up on the website.  I had written to them again, asking when exactly it would be available, and to my dismay, they told me they had restocked it but it sold out really quickly and wouldn't be returning.  I was super disappointed about that, but then they wrote, telling me that they found a few more and if I went to purchase it right then, I might have a chance of grabbing it.  After that, ABBA Monopoly wouldn't be coming back.  By the time I saw that message, it was 3 hours since they first sent it, and it was 8 AM my time.  I was half asleep at the time, but I quickly got to my computer, snatched an ABBA monopoly, as well as the ABBA necklace.  I spent way too much money that day, but the super expensive shipping was 100% worth it, as it arrived at my house just two days later!

I've played this version of Monopoly several times now, and while the majority of my family much prefers the original Monopoly set that we have, this one is still so much fun to play. :)

It is so much fun playing monopoly and seeing ABBA on the board, laughing at me while I play, haha.
The tokens, which are a vinyl record, Bjorn's star guitar, a "Ring Ring" phone, Napoleons hat, an ABBA-style boot, and a "Money Money Money" bag.
A $500 music note, with a nice disco ball background, as well as the ABBA the movie logo on the bottom left.
The game is both in Swedish and English, and the cards are quite useful to those who want to learn Swedish.  (surprisingly my casual duolingo learning has come in handy and I actually know what a lot of the words mean without having to see the English translation!)

And last but certainly not least, we have the ABBA necklace.  I've always wanted a nice simple way to show off my obsession without being super out there in your face, and this ABBA necklace is perfect for that.  I never thought I'd be able to get it because it's pretty expensive, but I felt like now was the right time.  It feels so cool to wear the ABBA logo around my neck, and also knowing that I'm wearing a necklace identical to the ones that Agnetha and Frida got in 1977 makes me super happy.  I will admit, the necklace was smaller that I anticipated, but I love it nontheless.  I've been wearing it almost every day, and it makes me sooo happy.

So that's my ABBA haul as of now.  Not sure what next I'll be getting, but if and when I do, I will definitely post about it, haha.

In other news, I just bought a ton of Roxette CDs because I really like their music.  No, I'm not turning into RoxetteFan456, hahahaha, but they are really growing on me. :D

Please keep your comments related to the blog's content. For example, I run multiple blogs and don't particularly want comments that have to do with one of my other blogs on a blog that has nothing really to do with the other. I might share posts because they're all my blogs, but please, keep your comments related. :)

Please don't be surprised if I don't publish your comments right away! I see every comment and will always get to them as soon as possible, just not all the time. I'm a busy person when I'm not blogging. ;)
