Happy 13th birthday, Bjorn Uldollus

Today marks 13 years since I put in the final stitches on my homemade ABBA dolls, officially completing 3/4 ABBA members.

I realize how weird it is to be celebrating the birthdays of literal cloth dolls, but who cares haha.  Happy birthday, Bjorn Doll

Velvet Jumpsuits

Last night I finished a new set of costumes...  Two new sets of costumes actually.  ABBA's velvet jumpsuits from 1976, and ABBA's Voyage jumpsuits that are recreations of the 1976 jumpsuits. :D

As usual, a more detailed post is available on my sewing blog.

Last night I finally got around to finishing my most recent doll costume recreations: ABBA's white and gold costumes from early 1979.

As usual, a more detailed post on these outfits is on my sewing blog.  :)

Ring Ring?

Look, I made a new set of costumes for my dolls! :D As usual, a more detailed post is up on my sewing blog, but here they are for you to see. :)  These outfits were frustrating, complicated, and difficult in some ways to make, mostly because of all the glue I used, lol, but I think they turned out pretty decent.

Money money money

I recently finished my latest batch of doll costumes, this time of ABBA's 1976 flapper-style outfits.  For a more detailed post, feel free to check out my sewing blog. :3

For a little update from me, unfortunately my dear budgie, Skyler passed away on March 1st.  He had a mass in his liver, and the last two months he was very sick.  He was my everything, we did almost everything together, we got to witness ABBA's comeback together, he'd sit on my shoulder while I sewed and drew, though he wasn't a big fan of when I was working on my book a year ago.  He didn't like that I was putting all my attention to my drawing tablet instead of him, haha.

He was a really sweet bird, the best little guy a girl like me could ask for.  I miss him so much, but I'm just so grateful for the time that we had together.  I love you Skyler.

Happy 11th birthday, Bjorn Uldollus

11 years ago on this day, I put in the last, finishing stitches of my homemade Bjorn Ulvaeus doll.  I remember we were having a blackout, due to a crazy snow storm in OCTOBER of all months, and we had no power, so I had to sew together the last few things by hand, but it just meant I had to be a little extra patient.  Despite the fact that I was no good at sewing by hand, Bjorn's stitches have held up pretty well and I'm glad to have added him to my doll collection all those years ago.  Happy 11th birthday, Bjorn Uldollus!

1979 World Tour Costumes

I have yet again remade ABBA's costumes from their 1979 world tour for my dolls, this time a lot more accurate.  :)

As usual, I have a more detailed post on how I made them on my sewing blog, which you can check out here.

La question c'est voulez-vous

It would seem that I'm on a roll when it comes to remaking ABBA costumes this year.  May I present to you the newest editions to my collection: This set of outfits that ABBA wore for a brief period of time in early 1979:

As usual, I have a more detailed post on my sewing blog if you are interested in that. :)

I'm Carrie, not-the-kind-of-girl-you'd-marry...

I finally made Benny and Bjorn's flightsuits, completing my recreations of ABBA's 1976 Arrival Flightsuits!  I had a lot of fun working on them, despite how time consuming it was, and am really pleased with the end result. :)  As usual, you can check out my sewing blog to see a slightly more detailed post.  In other news, which ABBA outfits do you think I should try to recreate next?

Happy 9th birthday, Bjorn Uldollus!

Today marks 9 years since I finished my homemade Bjorn doll in the middle of a snowstorm with no power, lol.  Still can't believe it's been 9 years!!

Kimonos

If you've been reading my sewing blog, you'll know that I recently started working on remaking ABBA's kimonos again, for the 4th/5th for my dolls.  8 years since I made my last attempt and 6 years since I tried to make another set and ultimately abandoned the project (that's why I wrote 4th/5th attempt lol), I finally have a version of my Kimonos that are pretty accurate and that I'm satisfied with. :)

To read more detailed posts about how I made these, you can check out my sewing blog. :)

Now the question is, which costume should I attempt to remake next...?
