The problems with being a pefectionist
Sometimes I wonder why I'm a perfectionist. I mean, I don't think I can control myself with being a perfectionist, but why do I let myself do this?
The problem is, when I do something, be it sewing, drawing, animating, and it doesn't come out perfect, I feel the urge to redo it. Even if it took so long working on the first thing, I just have to do it again.
Like my doll kimonos. I've remade them three times and I'm working on a fourth (which reminds me, I really should work on it...).
Recently, the thought came into my head that the illustrations in my book, The Story of ABBA For Young Readers, look terrible. I have to admit, pre teen me wasn't the best artist in the world and I didn't know all the techniques that I know now on how to color with color pencils without leaving white spaces.
Though my drawings are cute and they give a nice, childish look to my book (because, after all, it is for children), I feel that they could be better.
So, I have made the decision that I am going to update all the illustrations in my book. However, I'm going to do it differently because color pencils take forever and my scanner doesn't pic them up very well.
I'm going to colorize them digitally. Originally, I used a free program called Ribbet to colorize my drawings. Though the desired look wasn't really achieved with Ribbet, my drawings still looked nice, and Ribbet made colorizing a much simpler process. But then they changed it so that you have to pay to get all the features that I used to use.
I tried to find other ways to colorize my drawings, but because of Ribbet's simpleness, I just couldn't do it. Gimp, however, was very easy to master, and though it is a longer process, I'm able to colorize my drawings again and, to tell you the truth, colorizing with Gimp gives a better result than Ribbet.
With Gimp, all I have to do is do a simple drawing with a mechanical pencil, scan it in, enhance it with Ribbet, download it again, then colorize it. Since Summer's just around the corner, I think I'm going to spend it updating my book so that I feel satisfied.

My old, ugly, terrible - I mean, my old drawings :P |

ABBA wearing each other's clothes
This is a post I've been wanting to do for a while, and when I saw these pictures on ABBA Chat, I decided that it was time I do it. :)
I find it super cute how they all wear each other's clothes. It shoes that they're all such good friends. :)
I'm just thinking...
Firstly, I'd like to give a mighty congratulations to Mans for winning the ESC with his song "Heroes"! :DDDDD
Okay...
Remember last year Bjorn said that either if Sweden or England won the ESC last year, ABBA would reunite? (I think it was during an interview with CNN, not sure. All I remember is that the interviewer sounded like Odo from Star Trek: Deep Space Nine...) Well, since Sweden has won the Eeurovision Song Contest this year, maybe ABBA will do something special next year? I don't think it'll happen, but I still have my hopes up. :)

Quick question
How do ABBA perform for 2 hours straight without running out of breath? Particularly Agnetha in "Hole in your Soul"...

ABBA Doodle
I feel bad, I haven't done much ABBA drawings lately. I still have the other half of my ABBA in 1974 drawing to finish, but I just haven't had the time... Anyway, here's this little cartoony drawing I did. :)

RIP Rutger Gunnarsson
Rutger Gunnarsson, ABBA's guitarist, passed away at the age of 69. (Don't know why I wrote 63 before... my keyboard's been acting up)
RIP Rutger. :'(

May 8th, 1978
ABBA went to Los Angeles to record a television special with Olivia Newton-John and Andy Gibb, the performance that started it all.
If they hadn't filmed this TV special, I would never have seen it 32 years later, in 2010.
Wow.

Let's see if you can listen to all 70 minutes of it in one sitting. ;) (I'm going to try...)

Oh my gosh
I feel so terrible. I have been neglecting my blog. :S
Well, Summer's coming soon, so prepare for more activity!! :DDDD
I'm going to start working on my animation next week (hopefully), plus, I'm going to start working on the other half of my ABBA drawing after I finish a drawing request on my tumblr blog.
And, I'm adding these two drawings of lovely Frida to my drawing list. ;)
